Do you wish your artwork had more freedom?

  • Want to learn how to ease into the flow, adapt and move with your painting so that your process becomes more playful than painful?
  • Are you ready to activate your imagination and begin to see endless possibilities where one idea leads to another and another…?
  • Do you wish you had more trust in the process and more techniques up your sleeve to move through the tough spots in your artmaking process with more ease and confidence?

Here's what I want you to know...

When you take an art class with me it’s not even just about the art. It’s about the whole shebang – Art as a metaphor for life. It’s about loosening up, enjoying the process, not taking ourselves too seriously and staying in the moment!

It’s about focusing in on the sweet spots instead of dwelling on what’s not working, giving ourselves permission to play and exploring possibilities with curiosity rather than fear.

I am a HUGE advocate for the wonderful, unique gifts we all bring to the table and my biggest desire is to help you rediscover and bring forth your own creative voice. So honored to be your gentle creative guide and inspiration instigator!

“I always choose authentic teachers, and you’re so good at bringing yourself to your work. You whole beautiful self, in all moods and moments of excitement, vulnerability or insight.”

- Vanessa Preston

What's inside Brushes to Blossoms?

Lesson one

Together we will discover the beauty of the continuous line drawing, loosen up our drawing skills while also having confidence that we can adjust and assess our work along the way without stress or self-criticism. In creating our beautiful portrait we will explore layering techniques and mixed media application with oil pastel, collage, pen and acrylics. The lesson will also focus in on composition and contrast.

Lesson two

Taking our color cues from lesson one and using similar materials we will take the same reference image and focus on certain elements (other than the face) to create a beautiful flowing abstract piece. We will explore the use of letters as compositional tools and reference my 'Embracing the Contrast' method to help us gain confidence in our application of color, line, shape, pattern and texture.

Is this course suitable for any level?

Absolutely!! I have been teaching my in person and online classes around the world for the past nine years! Both beginners and more experienced painters have enjoyed epiphanies in creative process, shifted perspectives and enjoyed learning new techniques. Mostly though I have come to realize that what I am teaching is about how to see the creative possibilities inherent in every moment and then to learn ways to process and translate those moments in our own artistic voice….AND to FREE UP and not be STUCK!!

Can I exhibit or sell the work I create in this workshop?

One of the main intentions in my courses is to help you find ways to connect with a style all of your own. So, with this in mind, I’m happy for you to show and sell original, innovative work created. If, however, you feel that you want to follow along more closely and produce pieces very similar to those within the projects that is all good, but I would ask that you don’t put those pieces out to exhibit or sell if they are close copies of my work. I trust that your heart will tell you what is too close. We also ask that you understand that these are Tracy's copyrighted techniques and may not be taught or packaged as a class by any individual other than Tracy without express consent. ♥
