Celebrating 25 years of teaching!
25 years ago my creative world exploded with possibility. Everything in my life began to change as I dived into my painting and teaching journey.
I started painting at the turn of the millennium, drawn to color, texture and storytelling. It took eleven years for my “outward expression” to catch up to or match my “inner vision.” This is to say that a whole lot of practice, hard work and exploration of process went into the eventual unfolding of my own voice.
I have always been a natural teacher; I was the kid at family BBQ's who gathered all of the smaller kids and set up school. On the very first day I attended a weekly art class in 2000, I came home, gathered up some of my kids' friends and started teaching them what I was learning. This morphed into 14 years of teaching afternoon classes to hundreds of kids and eventually taking the beautiful lessons I had learnt across those years through my teaching and bringing that to adults!
It has always seemed a natural progression to share all that I am learning as I grow and evolve in my own creative practice. Building this very special community of more than 100,000 kindred spirits, connecting with amazing students all over the world and helping them to grow in their own artistic confidence makes me feel like the luckiest person.
I love making art (and classes) that are energetic, diverse, inspiring, spontaneous, playful and authentic. I share all of this in my online classes AND I also show the messy and the vulnerable and the ways we can shift our focus to embrace the “happy accidents”.
Since 2000 I have taught and facilitated more than 100 workshops and retreats all over this beautiful planet and I truly LOVE the work I get to do in the world!

Hi, I’m Tracy!
I've been teaching students to loosen up and find joy through art for more than 20 years. When I was a kid I really believed that art was some kind of special gift only given out to a select few at birth. In my family it was my brother Jason who seemed to have the magic art gene. He would spend hours sprawled on the floor sketching and whenever I tried to do the same my work would inevitably end up in the bin.
It wasn’t until I was 33 that I joined a local art class and my whole world shifted. Within two weeks I had the epiphany that art wasn't just for the lucky few and that creativity encompassed all parts of ourselves, that creating things; art, gardens, stories, games etc. was actually our birthright and not only that, but spending time creating and making art could enhance EVERY single aspect of our LIVES!!
I started teaching way back then, gathering the neighborhood kids into my garden shed, and since then I have been honing my skills with a mission to bring more joy, more play, more confidence and more ease to the lives of my students (now from 70+ countries around the world!) through artmaking!
