Hi I’m Tracy.
I've been teaching students to loosen up and find joy through art for more than 20 years. When I was a kid I really believed that art was some kind of special gift only given out to a select few at birth. In my family it was my brother Jason who seemed to have the magic art gene. He would spend hours sprawled on the floor sketching and whenever I tried to do the same my work would inevitably end up in the bin.
It wasn’t until I was 33 that I joined a local art class and my whole world shifted. Within two weeks I had the epiphany that art wasn't just for the lucky few and that creativity encompassed all parts of ourselves, that creating things; art, gardens, stories, games etc was actually our birthright and not only that, but spending time creating and making art could enhance EVERY single aspect of our LIVES!!
I started teaching way back then, gathering the neighbourhood kids into my garden shed, and since then I have been honing my skills with a mission to bring more joy, more play, more confidence and more ease to the lives of my students (now from 60+ countries around the world!) through artmaking!

In this lesson filled with color and fabulous mark making I’ll share how it’s possible to shift a painting by focusing on the parts that are working instead of the parts that are not.

How much time is required?
There is around 5 hours of pre-recorded video content so the lessons are perfect to watch at any time during the day.
Are there captions/subtitles?
Yes! The videos in this online course currently have English captions and Spanish subtitles.

I don’t have many art supplies. Can I still do these lessons?
Absolutely! While Tracy always has her favorite supplies, we want you to be open and adaptable and use what you have. Don’t have acrylic paints? Try doing the same tutorial with colored pencils and see what unique results you can get!
Having said that, here is a list of the supplies Tracy uses in this art course:
- Watercolor paper, masking tape, pencil, acrylic inks, paints, acryla gouache, various paint brushes, various mark making tools (bamboo skewers, twigs etc.), gel pens), paper towel, gel medium, black gesso, stamps/stencils (optional), chalk and charcoal, isopropyl alcohol, colored pencils, spray bottle with water.

All of Tracy’s online classes are unique and completely different from one another. This course is both for artists who feel stuck in their practice and for those starting out. Tracy's aim is to provide inspiration and possibility thinking for all creatives!
